Drink water to keep your kidneys healthy!

2022. 10. 04. 09:23:00 Veress Máté - HillVital

The average person should drink 2-3 litres of still water a day.

Insufficient fluid intake can cause problems that are barely noticeable at first, such as fatigue, headaches, acid reflux, and lack of concentration.

In the long term, however, more serious diseases can develop, such as cardiovascular problems, metabolic problems, which can lead to more serious diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and kidney disease. Because kidney disease is initially asymptomatic, it is only noticed when the kidneys are no longer able to do their job.

The first signs of kidney disease may include watery eyes, headaches, fatigue, weight loss, difficulty breathing, and itchy skin. Regular check-ups of kidney function are important because of the difficulty in detecting it.

Water is not only great for the kidneys, but also for many other organs.

Water provides the brain with the energy it needs to think and remember. Unfortunately, the brain cannot store water and relies on what it gets from the body. If you have a headache, can't concentrate or are tired, those are signs of dehydration. It's a good idea to start the day with at least 3 dl of water and drink water continuously throughout the day.

This is particularly important if you do mental work. Lack of fluids also affects your mood and emotions. It's recommended to drink 2-3 litres of water a day - believe me, it'll even improve your mood. Low fluid intake can also cause blood pressure to rise, as the body retains sodium in this case.

Lack of water can also cause joint problems as there is fluid between the vertebrae and 80% of this fluid is water.

If you don't drink enough fluid, this fluid will run out after a while and lead to joint pain. If you are dehydrated, your airways can become overloaded and this can lead to asthma and allergies. Adequate water consumption reduces the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease. The stomach and intestines also need adequate water intake.

Inadequate amounts can cause digestive problems and constipation. So water is very important in all senses, not just for the kidneys. It is the most important fluid for the human body.
